Biography

Barbara B. Lockee is Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Professor of Instructional Design & Technology in the School of Education at Virginia Tech. Her scholarship centers on instructional design, distance/online learning, and faculty/professional development, with a focus on quality in technology‑mediated learning. She has served as Past President of AECT and currently serves as Vice President for Education of IAFOR. She earned a BA (1986) and MA (1991) from Appalachian State University and a PhD (1996) from Virginia Tech.
